Just a reminder.... We don't have a regular meeting in September, but we do have the Fall Seminar at Spring Mill State Park. Sign up if you haven't done so already. Darty and Colleen from Colleen and Company will be presenting an all day program on the 14th. On the 13th we have a full afternoon of shooting instruction from Chris Routt, Larry Seidman, and Jim Garber. Chris Routt is one of the area's best senior shooters. Chris uses primarily natural light to make his amazing images. Larry is one of the best wedding shooters around. Larry will be photographing a "bride" in different lighting situations. Learn posing, and lighting for awesome bridals. Jim Garber is just plain "one of the best". He brings a great sense of humor to his teaching, and has a unique way of communicating lighitng techniques so that anyone can understand. I saw Jim's lighting program several years ago, it was one of the most eye opening programs that I have been to. Ken Kneringer is a standby shooter, if we get a ton of people signing up, or if one of our shooters need a break, Ken will be there to step in. Ken will be helping Chris with his reflectors and lighting.
There will be several inmage competitions...
1) 16x20 Competition - Standard competition rules.
2) 8x10 Competition - This competition is totally seperate from the 16x20 competition, with seperate awards. This competition is geared toward photographers that don't normally compete in the 16x20 competition due to cost, or it may be their first competition. Download the rules using the link above.
3) Wedding Album Competiton - You may enter up to 2 albums. Download the rules using the link above.
4) We just added a folio competition. You may enter up to 2 folios in any category. The categories are children, seniors, and weddings. There will be a first, second, and third place award for each category. Label the back of your folio just as you would for the print competition. Download the Standard Competition Rules above. Folios should be a maximum of 12" x 24" and the thickness of a typical folio. Folios may be equipped with either one or two folds and should be manufactured from typical folio materials. Prints may be mounted directly to the folio, or may use traditional mats. The folios will be judged by the print judges, so they will be stacked behind the curtains just like the prints. Folios that are equiped with battery powered devices, mechanical devices, pull outs, non-traditional materials, or the like will be presented to the judges in the state they are recieved. The print crew can't be reponsible for turning on devices, working mechanical devices, dead batteries, or interpreting instructions for the "operation" of a folio.
